Lamallari receives FRONTEX representatives: We strengthen cooperation on border security
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Besfort Lamallari, hosted today in a meeting the senior representatives of FRONTEX, Eva Capogna, Holger Farnung, Teuta Krasniqi and Ksenia Hawryszkow.
During the meeting, Lamallari announced that they discussed "the further strengthening of cooperation between Albania, FRONTEX and the EU in the field of border security, migration and the fight against cross-border crime."
Lamallari emphasized that "Albania was the first non-EU country to welcome a joint FRONTEX operation, proving our trust and role as a security factor in the region."
"Joint operations, the contribution of Albanian officers to European missions, as well as the work to modernize migration management systems are strengthening our capacities in line with European standards and the path towards integration into the European Union," the minister underlined.
