Under the leadership of the chairwoman Ms. Milva Ekonomi, the Committee on Economy, Employment and Finance, in its next meeting and in the capacity of the committee for giving an opinion, continued the review of the draft law "On the extended responsibilities of entities producing products that generate waste", which had been discussed and approved in principle earlier by the committee. Invited to today's meeting were the Minister of Environment, Mr. Sofjan Jaupaj, as well as the technical staff of the Ministry of Environment.
During the discussions, Mr. Jaupaj emphasized the need to bring the draft law within the framework of fulfilling the obligations in the integration process, and emphasized that the main goal is to promote the recycling process, determine that manufacturing entities that place products on the Albanian market must be responsible for treating the waste generated by these products, as well as strengthen the circular economy. Mr. Jaupaj then answered the questions and concerns of the deputies regarding the obligations and the level of fines that producers must pay, business costs, the deadline for the law to enter into force, etc.
