Research highlights media problems in Albania - “Transparency in advertising revenues, DPT to analyze non-payments”
An initiative of the EU Delegation to Albania, carried out by the Council of Europe and the Department of Journalism and Communication, brought together experts in the integration process, media representatives, journalists and civil society to research media issues, starting from the safety of journalists, working conditions, transparency, state advertising in the media, etc.
The EU Ambassador to Albania, Silvio Gonzato, during his speech, expressed the importance of this initiative and Albania's unsparing support for the integration process.
“Why did we decide to personally engage in this effort? Because this is a key element of the integration process, and my role in Albania is that of supporting Albania in the EU. In this context, Albania must take a series of deep reforms and concrete measures to ensure media freedom.”
But they also discussed the commitment that the General Directorate of Taxes should make regarding the financial problems of the media and tax evasion.
