Drini Cascade, situation back to normal - Inflows and discharges are reduced. HPP basins, close to maximum level
The decrease in rainfall intensity has brought significant improvement in the Drini Cascade. The situation appears stable, where according to the daily report of the Albanian Electric Power Corporation, the levels in the cascade lakes are: in Fierza 292.4 m, close to the maximum level of 296 m, in Koman 170.6 m and Vau i Dejës 73.8 m.
Natural flows are in moderate decline, with 500 m³/s in Fierzë, 250 m³/s in Koman and 50 m³/s in Vau i Dejës.
On the other hand, discharges continue to be controlled. There are no discharges in Lake Fierza, in Koman the discharge is 200 m³/s and in Vau e Dejës 300 m³/s.
Meanwhile, regarding the daily production of electricity, it is reported to be 27 thousand MWh. KESH informs that the situation is being monitored in real time, in order to guarantee the safety and efficiency in the operation of the cascade. Meanwhile, atmospheric conditions help in keeping the situation under control, as according to the Institute of Geosciences, light local precipitation is expected.
