Artificial Intelligence in Public Procurement - Electronic System for Process Automation. Simplifies Procedures for Businesses
In addition to agriculture, transport, and healthcare, Albania aims to integrate artificial intelligence into the energy sector, public procurement, and the fight against tax evasion.
The National Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2025-2030 foresees the use of artificial intelligence in public procurement to eradicate corruption and abuse, ensure transparency, and promote fair competition among economic operators. But how will this be achieved?
Initially, an electronic system driven by artificial intelligence will be set up to fully automate procurement processes. This will replace paper documentation and physical communication with a fully digital and intelligent workflow.
This system will simplify procedures for national and European businesses, through the use of virtual business files that interact seamlessly with other state systems, reducing the administrative burden and promoting efficiency.
In terms of application in the energy sector, artificial intelligence can be a determining factor in enabling energy resources to be used at the best possible time and place, to increase the efficiency of this system as a whole.
Also, with the help of AI, Albania will quickly detect cases of tax evasion or financial crime. The model under development analyzes electronic invoices and customs declarations in real time to detect suspicious transactions, making the process more efficient and reducing corruption, as well as the time needed for analysis by employees.
So, artificial intelligence will be used to detect anomalies in fiscal data and invoices.
