The Council of Ministers has approved at the last meeting of 2024 the concession contracts / public private partnership for the design, construction, operation, maintenance, rehabilitation and transfer of three road segments part of the Adriatic-Ionian corridor, or as it is otherwise known as the "Blue Corridor". . This road starts from Miloti and ends in Fier and has a length of about 114 km. Meanwhile, since June 30 of this year, the segment from Thumana to Kashar has been opened for traffic.

Referring to the decision of the Council of Ministers, the Milot-Thumane road axis 13.5 km long will be built by the union of the economic operators "Gener 2", sh.pk, "Illyrian Consulting Engineers", sh.pk, and "IDK - Konstruksion ", sh.pk The concession is expected to cost 44.6 million euros without VAT and the duration of the contract will be 35 years from its entry into force.

The road axis Kashar-Pezë-Lekaj with a length of 26.6 km will be built by the union of economic operators "Gjoka Konstruksion", sh.a., "Junik", sh.pk, "Cobial", sh.pk, "Pepa Group" ", sh.pk, "Udha", sh.pk, "Geoportal", sh.pk, and "A&E Engineering", sh.pk The concession is expected to cost 474.8 million euros without VAT and the duration of the contract will be 35 years from its entry into force.

Meanwhile, the 46 km long Lekaj-Konjat-Fier road axis will be built by the union of economic operators "Fusha", sh.pk, "Agbes Construksion", sh.pk, "Albavia", sh.pk, "Kupa" , sh.pk, "Ante-Group", sh.pk, "Klodioda", sh.pk, "ALTEA & Geostudio 2000", sh.pk, and "Sphaera", sh.pk The concession is expected to will cost 320 million euros without VAT and the duration of the contract will be 35 years from its entry into force.

The Adriatic-Ionian Corridor, as part of the European TEN-T network, crosses Albania from north to south, connecting the country with Central Europe and Southeast Greece.
