Governor Sejko meets with the new IMF Mission Chief for Albania, Cerdeiro
In the framework of the IMF and WB Spring Meetings in Washington, Governor Sejko held an introductory meeting with the new Head of the IMF Mission to Albania, Mr. Diego Cerdeiro, who will replace Ms. Anke Weber.
During the meeting, the Governor presented an analysis of the latest economic and financial situation in the country, as well as projections for the future.
The Albanian economy continues to exhibit stable growth rates, supported by a strong labor market, low inflation, and a healthy financial system. However, uncertainties in the international environment, especially developments in the Middle East, remain factors that require increased attention.
During the meeting, the importance of prudent macroeconomic policies was emphasized, which have contributed to maintaining price stability, strengthening financial sustainability and gradually reducing public debt.
Monetary policy will continue to remain oriented towards price stability, based on new developments and the assessment of risks.
