Gonxha travels by seaplane from Rinas to Pogradec: Lakes and the coast can turn into air tourism stations

The Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, made a symbolic seaplane flight from Rinas International Airport to Lake Ohrid, as part of the opening of the summer tourist season in Pogradec.
The trip, carried out for the first time on this route and lasting about 20 minutes, was conducted together with the head of the Civil Aviation Authority, Maksim Ethemaj. According to the minister, the flight serves as a concrete example of the potential that Albania has for the development of air tourism and the creation of faster connections between tourist destinations.
During the visit to Pogradec, working meetings and field inspections are planned for projects related to tourism development, the promotion of cultural and natural heritage, as well as improving connectivity between tourist areas.
Gonxha emphasized that Albanian cities and areas with access to the sea or near lakes have the potential to become operating points for seaplanes and other panoramic tourist vehicles. According to him, with limited investments and modest infrastructure, conditions can be created for the service, parking and operation of these aircraft.
The Minister assessed that the development of air taxi lines, both for tourists from neighboring countries and for movements within the country, could bring a new dimension to Albanian tourism and contribute to increasing the attractiveness of tourist destinations.
