Transparency Board lowers fuel prices - Oil goes to 185 lek/liter

The Transparency Board, at its next meeting, set new ceiling prices for the trading of petroleum by-products, which will enter into force today, at 1:00 PM.

According to the decision, the retail price for SSH EN 590 standard diesel will be no more than 185 lek/liter, while the wholesale price will be no more than 173 lek/liter, reducing the price by 2 lek/liter. For gasoline, the retail price ceiling has been set at 173 lek/liter and 161 lek/liter in the wholesale, reflecting fluctuations in international markets and the exchange rate.

The new prices will remain in effect until the next meeting, where they will be reviewed depending on market developments.

In case of violations by all retail and wholesale operators, suspension of activity is announced.

The Board emphasizes that, referring to Normative Act No. 1, dated April 3, 2026, the excise duty level remains 100%, as the prices set are below the established thresholds of 220 lek/liter for diesel and 200 lek/liter for gasoline.

The responsible institutions announce that they continue their commitment to protecting consumers and guaranteeing fair competition in the fuel market.
