Businesses, over 2200 violations found - From failure to issue tax invoices to undeclared employees
Businesses have been caught with a series of violations during the exercise of their economic activity. The Directorate of Verification and Coordination in the Field at the General Directorate of Taxes, during 2025, has exercised 2,317 controls in total, of which it has found 2,215 violations worth 149 million lek. As well as 1,390 verifications have been undertaken, including the handling of documents with the subject "Request for deregistration, suspension of activity, transition to passive status, etc." which have not been identified or have been found closed.
The most numerous controls and also the largest violations were recorded in the central region.
The main violations for the period January-December 2025 are listed, they are diverse, while the most important ones are related to failure to issue tax invoices, for which 540 taxpayers were penalized; 443 taxpayers were found to have goods without tax documentation; 300 taxpayers were penalized for failure to issue self-invoices; 198 taxpayers were penalized after being found to have undeclared employees; 156 computer units seized from 85 taxpayers; 113 taxpayers were penalized for failure to update data; 97 taxpayers were penalized for failure to install the fiscalization system; 96 entities were found to be unregistered with the tax authority; 75 taxpayers were identified for failure to maintain tax documentation; 54 taxpayers for failure to display the price list; 49 taxpayers were penalized for unblocking activity after registration; 29 taxpayers were found not to be equipped with an electronic certificate; and 65 other violations of tax legislation were found.
On the other hand, during 2025, there were 849 incoming letters, which were handled by the Field Verification Directorate according to the determined subject.
