Bialczak: The "American Dream" can also be built online/ From pizza

Albanians around the world are no longer just part of the labor market, but are increasingly becoming business creators and investors. From small family restaurants to companies in various sectors, many of them have built success stories in international markets, especially in the US. But how difficult is it to open a business in one of the most competitive economies in the world?

" Opening a business in the US is not, it is not difficult. In fact, it is easier than in Europe, we have less bureaucracy and fewer processes. The difficulty is to dominate the market. So, while the diaspora, businessmen from Kosovo have wanted to penetrate the American market, they have wanted to open branches in America, on campuses as consultants, because they wanted to know the American culture, because the business ethics in the US are different, it is not in Albania. To penetrate and create that strategy that can attract the American client. Today, to this day, for the same reason that the doors have opened, Americans are the ones who are looking for companies outside the US to hire, in any type of industry, it is not just about marketing, it is not about technology and human resources, employees, because they do not want inflation to increase and in a way they are thinking of saving money ," said Marsilda Bialczak, entrepreneur.

In these years of emigration, many Albanian entrepreneurs who are immigrants have experimented with different forms of businesses. But how has immigrant entrepreneurship evolved?

"Albanians have always been known as working in construction or having a pizzeria, because it was thought, it was the beginnings of Albanians when you have a lack of language, you try to open a business that maybe you don't need to have a lot of business vocabulary, you don't need to have a lot of broad terminology. But in the 16 years, especially during, after the pandemic, where online business became global, there has been a huge development of entrepreneurs, in many industries. Not only construction, I'm talking about construction, whether it's home improvement, plumbing, electricians, I've seen developments in law firms, finance, tax, AI companies, cybersecurity, IT, digital marketing, and in different sectors of transportation, logistics. And it all started with a job, from the experience they built while living in America and they had that ambition that we want more, we want more, the sacrifices they make. Another characteristic thing, that I've seen, not only in Albania, but they've seen in the country in the diaspora, and in different countries, we have a "great growth of women entrepreneurs. "

But is the American dream a real opportunity for an Albanian immigrant to build and manage a successful business?

"The American dream was. So, very much Albanians had it, they used to play the lottery and now from physical, it has turned to the internet, to online. Which means, that any business, it is enough wherever it is, to start an online business, it is enough to know how to grow or get this first named customers, it does not prevent an American company from growing and developing it from 0. And since you have and open it, Americans open a subsidiary, much easier, you can be established, so you represent yourself as an American business when you have the American subsidiary. And it is much easier than it used to be. So, the American dream can be done anywhere, that is, there are no difficulties, it is not easy, but I see more Albanians who want to flee to European countries, than to America, because I think America, it was not what it was. Before, what was the American dream? It was when people came to work in factories. America does not catch up with companies that produce their products here in America, they have them abroad. When it comes In America you can be a doctor here, but because you don't know the language there you will be a cleaner, until you get there in March to see you in some way, what are you doing it for? I understand it for the children, for the grandchildren. It is no longer just the American dream to run away and not know what is there. You just have to search on YouTube, watch bloggers, watch people living in America and see that, ok, it's fine, I am here."

According to entrepreneur Marsilda Bialziak, Albanian entrepreneurship in the US will be more united in the future.

"I'm looking at it more in context, I understand because in America we have an expression 'your network, is your networth'. Which means, the biggest mirror that an enterprise has is the contact, the more contacts, the more successful the relationships will be."
