Municipalities, deadline for determining priority areas - Mountain Package/ Rama: Submit maps by the end of the month!
Municipalities will have until the end of October to submit maps of priority areas in their territory, to give the green light to the approval of investment requests in mountainous areas through the "Mountain Package." In a meeting with mayors, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that it is inexcusable that 5 months after the adoption of the law, only 5 municipalities have submitted maps, including the municipalities of Tropoja, Elbasan Blesh, Përmet and Skrapar.
"You need to make the maps immediately. Not only do you need to make the maps urgently, but you need to set up a task force of three people and be available to those who express interest to facilitate the process, because the first 500 who benefit will not pay any taxes for 10 years, but you need to help them benefit, you need to be pronto."
The Prime Minister emphasized that the procedure is clear that development territories must be those where construction can be legally carried out and if there is any conflict in the future over ownership, the state takes responsibility.
"Wake up from this sleep and within October all the maps should come. I speak for all of you who receive orders. For the rest, the door is open. We are ready to support you because this is a national interest and there is no division. Focus on the maps, territories that are not legally unbuildable and that are mountainous territories."
Meanwhile, the Minister of Local Government, Ervin Demo, emphasized that the value of the projects that have been identified so far in 5 municipalities reaches over 10 million euros.
"In these 5 municipalities alone, there are 33 projects that have been identified as having high potential, their value starts from 10 million euros, it is about new jobs and the creation of a complete economic chain. There will be no problems in the territory, the procedures will continue only when there are no conflicts."
According to him, next week the areas in the 5 municipalities will be formalized with the VKM and a working group has been established that can go into the field to take this process forward. The practice is consolidated, the instructions are clear.
