AMA and Labor Inspectorate, cooperation agreement - Krasniqi: Working conditions for media employees, essential for EU integration
The Audiovisual Media Authority and the State Labor Inspectorate held a roundtable discussion focusing on the cooperation agreement between the two institutions regarding working conditions in the Albanian media market. This agreement aims at media standardization within the framework of the European Union accession process.
Armela Krasniqi, Chairperson of the Audiovisual Media Authority:
“We are here behind a multi-dimensional dialogue table, or platform initiated and supported by the Council of Europe, by the European Union office in Tirana called “Promoting freedom of expression in Albania through open dialogue”. Some necessary recommendations have also been given that will actually serve us all in this common mission, moreover that improving working conditions for media workers is essential for the integration process in the European Union where labor rights and freedom of expression actually go hand in hand. In this regard, this initiative directly contributes to the fulfillment of the recommendations of the European Commission and to the approximation of European Union standards. For all these reasons, this table is important, and every thought, or every contribution of yours that is given here today, is valuable to us.”
This meeting served as a platform for exchanging experiences and discussions between institutional representatives and those of the audiovisual media.
