Will AI replace laid-off employees? - Xhihani: Innovation in Albanian businesses should be the vision of the future
Albanian businesses are going through a crisis for employees, both qualified and unqualified, due to mass layoffs. But could replacing foreign workers through artificial intelligence be a solution?
Arbër Xhihani Employment Expert
"In my view, I think that Artificial Intelligence should also be considered in the historical-economic context of Albania. This is due to the fact that the Albanian economy, until recently in recent years, has been an economy where human capital was mainly used, thanks to the services that could be provided to third parties, but also services in the tourism sector. For this reason, I see some difficulties in how artificial intelligence developments can be linked in a short or rapid time with the products that we are offering as an economy."
According to Xhihani, businesses must have a vision for the future and the development of innovation.
"In fact, the development of innovation has always been among the main policies in which Albanian enterprises should have a vision of the future. This is because it is now becoming increasingly difficult to meet the needs in terms of human capital and to fill the vacancies that the departure or lack of labor force is leaving day by day. For this reason, it will be necessary to see that those sectors or in those developments or services where artificial intelligence can be truly useful, or can complement the product that the enterprise offers, is truly encouraging, or should be financed and stimulated to implement artificial intelligence developments."
