69,917 applications for subsidies in agriculture - Who benefits? / Verification

69,917 applications have been registered in e-Albania by farmers or Agricultural Cooperative Societies to benefit from the funds made available for financing the agricultural sector through the National Support Scheme 2025. The number of applications has increased slightly compared to the previous year, where the figure was 69,858.

Applications for the National Agricultural Support Scheme opened on April 14 and closed on May 30, 2025, and according to AZHBR data, the highest interest resulted in oil support.

Regarding geographical distribution, this year too the highest number of applications is in the regions where agriculture and livestock farming is most developed, such as Fier, Korçë, Berat and Elbasan.

Support will be provided to farmers in the form of direct payments in livestock, beekeeping, seeds-seedlings, medicinal herbs-aromatics, organic farms, Global GAP certification, and the oil scheme.

But what are the procedures until the disbursement of funds? After the application with self-declaration in e-Albania, the Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development will start the verification process and completion of files for each applicant. A good part of the documentation is generated directly by e-albania, while the rest must be submitted by the farmers.

Among the main criteria is land owned or used by farmers through a notarized lease contract, as well as the absence of obligations to the Social Security Institute.

On the other hand, for the plantings made in advance, or for the number of livestock and the number of hives in the apiary, a field verification will be carried out. After the completion of the entire procedure, the disbursement of funds to farmers will begin.

This year, farmers will receive cash payments for the oil they use for mechanized agricultural work.

The fund is 3.2 billion lek and more priority will be given to financing agricultural cooperatives, which will be able to benefit 100%.

Over 67,000 farmers across the country have benefited from the Agricultural Subsidy Scheme throughout 2024. Official data from the Ministry of Agriculture shows that funds have been disbursed specifically to 67,132 beneficiaries in total, of which 14,937 beneficiaries from the national scheme and 52,195 planned from the oil subsidy scheme for agriculture.
