10 years of "A Different Weekend", a decade of humanism and volunteerism/ Edi Rama: You built habits of the heart, hope and charity
On the 10th anniversary of the founding of “Fundjavë Ndryshe”, an initiative born as a simple volunteer initiative that became a symbol of humanity and solidarity, a commemorative ceremony was held, which this year also coincides with the International Volunteer Day – December 5. Prime Minister Edi Rama was also present at the ceremony, who greeted those present with a speech.
"What happens with this foundation and what happens overall, when people organize and come together in this way, is the building of habits of the heart. And of course, among these habits gathered together to make a habit of a group of people, the training of hope and the discipline of charity are two habits that necessarily stand above the others and on which all other habits depend in this approach to the other. And we live in a time that, for the sake of truth, tests both every day, every second perhaps, both: both hope and charity," Rama said.
In his speech, Prime Minister Rama also conveyed the message that "May it never happen to anyone that they need an outstretched hand, but may no one ever forget to nourish an outstretched hand." The Head of Government called the Different Weekend initiative a gym of hope.
