"Kosovo, zero tariff for US goods" - Government decision, Kurti: It affects the growth of trade and investments
The Kosovo government has removed all trade tariffs on goods imported from the US. At today's meeting, acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced the decision, adding that it will affect the growth of American trade and investment in Kosovo.
"Another important decision we are making today is the removal of the customs tariff for the USA. So from now on, all their products will have a zero% tariff when they enter our territory". Kosovo welcomes American products to its market and we strongly believe that this will affect the increase in trade exchange and the increase in investments".
The Kosovo government's decision comes a day after US President Donald Trump introduced new customs tariffs on 69 countries with which the US trades, arguing that they have been unfair to the American economy.
According to the decision published by the White House, goods from any trading partner country that are not included in the annex of the order will be subject to a 10% tax based on the April executive order. In that order, Kosovo was hit with a reciprocal tariff of 10%, as were Albania and Montenegro.
