Tourism spending reaches 82 billion euros - Spain breaks record. Over 58 million visitors by July

Spain has set another record in tourism, welcoming 58.1 million international visitors during the period January–July 2026. The figure represents an increase of 4.6% compared to the same period last year.
Tourism spending also reached a new record. Foreign visitors spent a total of 82.05 billion euros, 7.8% more than a year earlier.
During July alone, Spain hosted 11.5 million international tourists, while their spending reached 18.22 billion euros, with an annual increase of 10.9%.
The United Kingdom, France and Germany were the main tourist markets for Spain in the first seven months of the year. 11.5 million tourists arrived from the UK, 7.2 million from France and 6.9 million from Germany.
Italy recorded the largest growth among major markets, with 3.5 million visitors, or 10.3% more than a year earlier.
At a regional level, Catalonia was the most visited destination, with 11.94 million international tourists through July. It was followed by the Balearic Islands with 9.16 million and the Canary Islands with 9.02 million.
Andalusia recorded growth of 8.2%, while Madrid and the Valencian Community recorded among the strongest increases, 9.6% and 8.9%, respectively.
The data also shows that the most common stay of tourists was four to seven nights, while the bulk of spending was focused on accommodation, tour packages and international transportation.
